How You Can Help

Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to contribute to the Centre.  Volunteering opportunities include becoming a:

  • board member
  • committee member
  • supervisor
  • volunteer for a guest event

Volunteering one night a month for 2½  to 4 hours is one way but you can also put your name on a substitute list to help whenever a regular volunteer cannot attend.  You do not need any special skills, just a listening ear and caring heart.

If you have a special skill, talent, or interest such as crocheting, quilting, wood working, crafts, card games, a pool shark, you could offer to teach it to the youth at the Centre. Maybe you have an interesting pet to show the youth?  Special events make the Centre a more interesting place.

Sometimes we are in need of a carpenter, plumber, or repair person – you might offer your name as a contact person when a need arises.

Helping to keep the Centre in people’s minds is another way to support the Centre.  Keep praying for the youth and administration!

Are you good at fundraising?  We are always looking for ways to raise funds as we are entirely supported by private donations, mostly from the local churches.

Consider a 3 year term as a board member.  We meet once a month excluding the summer.  Our meetings are quick and productive.

Just drop in and visit and see for yourself how important this place is for the youth in our community!

How We Use Funds

  • To provide a clean and neat centre with a variety of activities for youth two evenings per week
  • To provide some refreshments at minimal cost or free
  • To provide special events and activities both inside the centre and outings
  • To provide training for volunteer supervisors

We are a Canadian charity and affiliate member of Canadian Centre for Christian Charities
